I recently saw a tv documentary about a beach community in Israel

where Muslims, Christians and Jews have lived together in peace

and harmony for many, many generations. All of them have difficulty

understanding why the rest of the world around them in the

Middle East cannot do the same . . .

Yes, indeed. Because peace with other individuals, cultures,

nations, has to begin in our own hearts.

Personally, I had to to be healed emotionally through forgiving --

then came the necessity of non-judgment of others,

and extending mercy. My enemy is the one who was

defeated on the Cross and through the Resurrection.

I've learned how to deal with him. He lies, deceives, steals and kills,

if he's allowed to. I'm in the camp of those who have learned

to "head him off at the pass."

Some people have acted as if they were my enemy,

but they are not. They saw me as a threat. That's OK.

That puts me in some very good company.

Long story short: I've learned to love, and Love never fails!

"Even those I will bring to My holy mountain

And make them joyful in My house of prayer.

Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be acceptable

on My altar;

For My house will be called a house of prayer

for all the peoples." (Isaiah 56:7)

Through the New Covenant in Christ, the "sacrifice" has to be

a broken and contrite heart -- as opposed to pride, arrogance,

self-righteousness. The 'I am right: you are wrong!' stance

is what enables the fear and hate that prevent peace

between human beings.

How often we have read of communities where wide cultural

and religious differences exist, yet because the people wanted

to live together in peace, they chose to major in positive,

unifying aspects of life.

The founders of the U.S.A. labored long and hard to prepare

such a framework for us.

People bent on deceptive selfish, greedy, materialistic goals

have worked hard to undermine our foundation.

However, I am convinced that miracles will yet happen to reveal

Father's love and truth to many.

Then sincere worship and prayer will facilitate the peace we long for.

and her good friend Mira Awad, the Palestinian singer, yes?

Their friendship is an enormous HOPE that we can all do this!

And certainly, music can help us.

it shows their friendship is not just on stage :

We are all part of the Human Family, n'est pas ?

And with great courage and wisdom, and CREATIVE thinking,

we can get past the political forces that wish to control things,

that have vested interests, and that may not be willing

to admit how their decisions have created the situation

we now have.

History is important to understand correctly.

And the future is even MORE important, non? . . .

What a fine example -- these two women using their art

and personal friendship to cry out their longing!

Certainly they express the desire of MILLIONS of people

caught in the trap of the present situation.

May everyone who hears and desires to find "another way",

reach their hearts upward.

Mercy IS waiting. It's not a thing - it is a PERSON.
