HILLARY CLINTON: AN EXISTENTIAL THREAT TO LIFE AND LIBERTY

Exclusive: Joseph Farah asks, 'Are America's best days behind us?'

JOSEPH FARAH is founder, editor and CEO of WND and a nationally syndicated columnist with Creators News Service. He is the author or co-author of 13 books, including his latest, "The Tea Party Manifesto," and his classic, "Taking America Back," now in its third edition and 14th printing. Farah is the former editor of the legendary Sacramento Union and other major-market dailies.

In 71 days, Americans will go to the polls to choose their next president.

Other than one recent poll showing Donald Trump ahead by 2 points, major public opinion surveys have Hillary Clinton leading the contest against the GOP nominee.

Clinton is perhaps the most corrupt major American political figure in the last 50 years, shamelessly using political self-dealing to enrich herself and her family - a woman of no significant actual accomplishment, one who has been permitted by her friends in high places to avoid prosecution and punishment for serious crimes and whose radical anti-liberty, Big Government, one-size-fits-all platform poses an existential threat to the remaining vestiges of freedom and justice under the law.

Donald Trump, on the other hand, has proposed real change in Washington - no more business as usual, leadership that will, first and foremost, protect the security of Americans and watch out for America's national self-interest. He promises to stimulate the economy through tax cuts and deregulation. And he certainly doesn't need government service to make him richer. He has already revealed the kinds of Supreme Court justices and federal judges he would appoint to return lawmaking to the people, where it rightfully and constitutionally belongs.

So what's wrong with this picture?

If the election were held today, it appears Clinton likely would win the presidency - and time is running it out.

Have we inevitably reached the stage where Americans have become content with being serfs of government as opposed to sovereign citizens capable of self-government?

Is this the result of a corrupt government educational system that has indoctrinated tens of millions of students into believing that their fate is and should be in the hands of the gilded elite in Washington?

Is it the result of the world of colleges and universities that believe there's almost nothing good about America?

Is it the result of other cultural institutions, including major corporations, including those that own media interests, falling in line with the power grab of centralized government that is leading us down the road to a dumber, less-informed and non-discerning society incapable of self-government?

In other words, is Donald Trump right? Is the whole system rigged?

We will find out in the next 71 days.

I suspect the script hasn't been written yet - except perhaps by God.

Which raises another question: Is America getting just what it deserves for collectively moving so far from Him?

Have we learned from the past? Are America's best days behind us? Do we really expect to keep going the direction we've been moving without serious consequences - like economic depression, chaos in the streets, another devastating world war or something very close to tyranny?

I like to think this election has meaning.

Obviously, I'm all in for Trump - not because he's the perfect candidate, not because he would be my first choice for the presidency, not because God has raised him up for a time such as this. I just know that America is on the wrong course, and any course besides the wrong course represents a course correction.

I disagree with him on some things - some of the big things.

Sometimes I want to shout at the TV when I hear him getting off message and saying whatever comes to his mind in a given moment.

He keeps me on the edge of my seat - hoping and praying he will say something and hoping and praying he won't say something.

Nevertheless, we have one of the clearest choices this November we've had in many, many election cycles.

I pray America gets it right.

We may not have another chance after 2016. And I'm not overstating the matter.

Wake up, America! We can't keep doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results.
