GOD took a d-e-e-p breath

The winds did blow

An' I'm still holdin' me hat!

He's played His TRUMP

In our two-year game

An' I just caint get over dat!

Was wantin' to laugh,

Was wantin' to cry,

Was wantin' to jump where I sat!

So just couldn't help it

I did all three

An' even swooped like a bat!  

I knows I'm not a Bobby Burns

An' not a Walter Scott

But Vachel Lindsay was me kin

An' singin's what I got!

So hold onto your hats me friends

It's gonna be s o m e ride!
