And so, having patiently
waited, he [Abraham] obtained the promise. For men swear by one greater than
themselves, and with them an oath given as confirmation is an end of every
dispute. In the same way God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise
the unchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an oath,
so that by two unchangeable things in
which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement
to take hold of the hope set before us.
Hebrews 6:15-18
God had mercy on the Egyptians and their cattle, for He told Moses to warn Pharaoh before the plague of hail began to fall:
Now therefore send, bring your livestock and whatever you have in the field to safety. Every man and beast that is found in the field and is not brought home, when the hail comes down on them, will die. Exodus 9:19
The psalmist KNEW by faith, then by experience that God would protect him.
For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; in the secret place of His tent He will hide me. He will lift me up on a rock. Psalm 27:5
Wondrously show Your lovingkindness, O Savior of those who take refuge at Your right hand from those who rise up against them. Psalm 17:7
Because words have spiritual power to either bless or curse,
God’s Presence is available to protect His
children from evil words.
Satan, on the contrary, is “the accuser of the brethren.”
In the shelter of your presence you hide them from the intrigues of men; in
your dwelling you keep them safe from accusing tongues. Psalm 31:20
Therefore, God’s people will rejoice, wherever, and in whatever place they are!
But let all who take refuge in
You be glad, let them ever sing for joy;
And may You shelter them, that those who love Your name may exult in You.
Psalm 5:11
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1
Boaz, the future husband of Ruth, (the widow of an
Israelite), blessed her godly work:
May the LORD reward your work, and your wages be full from the LORD, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to seek refuge. Ruth 2:12
The psalmist is a prophet who gives warning. He knows by revelation that the Son of the Living God, who is the refuge of the humble and obedient man, is also the Judge of the arrogant and rebellious.
Do homage to the Son, that He not become angry, and you perish in the way, for His wrath may soon be kindled. How blessed are all who take refuge in Him! Psalm 2:12
I will make justice the
measuring line and righteousness the level; then hail will sweep away the refuge of lies and the waters will
overflow the secret place. Isaiah 28:17
The world will yet see the fulfillment of God's promises.
As the vanity
of mans’ imagination collapses like a house of cards,
so the kingdom of heaven
as described by Jesus Christ, will be seen.
It is founded upon the Rock of His Word.
O LORD, my strength and my stronghold, And my refuge in the day of distress, to You
the nations will come from the ends of the earth and say, "Our fathers
have inherited nothing but falsehood, futility and things of no profit."
Jeremiah 16.19
The LORD roars from Zion And utters His
voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth tremble. But the LORD is a refuge for His people and a stronghold
to the sons of Israel. Joel 3:16
OUR TESTINGS AND TRIALS WILL NOT BE WASTED!
WE WILL COME FORTH LIKE PURE GOLD, and SILVER
WHEN IT'S COME THROUGH THE FIRE!
