The architect was Daniel Czapiewski,
a Polish businessman and philanthropist,
who built this house as an artistic
statement on the state of the world.
This is a most unusual house in Szymbark, Poland.
Many visitors become uncomfortable,
even ill after just a few minutes inside the structure.
in Thessalonika, in Greece:
“But the
Jews which believed not, moved with envy,
took unto them certain lewd fellows
of the baser sort,
and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar,
and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people.
And when
they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren
unto the rulers of
the city, crying
These that have turned the world
upside down are come hither also;
Whom Jason
hath received: and these all do contrary to the decrees of Caesar,
saying that there is another king, one Jesus.” Acts 17:5-7 (KJV)
We have a choice.
Since “turning the
world upside down”
can mean radically changing the established order in a
culture,
let us stand on the Lord’s side along with Paul and Silas.
Since socialism is a counterfeit for the
kingdom of God in the world,
let us “turn the world upside down”
by returning
to our roots as Americans –
For
we began in covenant with God.
William
Wilberforce and his friends in England showed us the way.
Over a fifteen year
period, they prayed, spoke, and influenced the
people and parliament
to
outlaw the slave trade in the British Empire!
In
their time, they “turned the world upside down.”
And
today in the early 21st century, so can we!
